Trout are Oregon's number one game fish. It's also the fish that got me hooked on fly fishing. A rising trout to a dry fly is the epitome of the sport. However, we can utilize other presentation methods during our day on the water.

I target the McKenzie and Deschutes Rivers by drift boat.

Timing: Trout are available all year long in Oregon. The famous Salmonfly hatch on the Deschutes is from late May to early June.

Techniques: Fly only. Specializing in dry fly and trout spey, but will utilize all other presentations.

Opportunities: I can guide you on the Warm Springs Indian Reservation via Matt Mendes. Boat or 4x4 access, $375 per seat or $450.00 for solo anglers. This is a fantastic place during the salmon fly hatch, but available dates go quickly. Be sure to reach out earlier in the year. These trips are also a great option during summer for caddis hatches.
